Five Tips for your Application

1. Tip: What makes a good application?

In order for us to get a good idea of your professional and personal profile, we need your application documents. This includes a cover letter, a curriculum vitae as well as your job references. You can send us your documents in English or in German. It is important for us to know your starting date and your salary expectations. Also take your application as an opportunity to ask us questions. We can help if something is not clear, if you have questions about the application process or about the job vacancy. Your person to contact for all application concerns is Mr. Maximilian Rentzsch. You may reach him via the phone number +49-30-6392-2043.

2. Tip: How long should the application be?

Your cover letter is a great chance to present yourself. Tell us how you learned of us, what your motivations are and which professional experiences have influenced your life. Always check your spelling and choose a well-readable font size. Pick a classic font: creative, modern fonts are sometimes barely readable. We recommend Arial, Times or Tahoma. Avoid long “novels” and try to describe yourself and trigger our curiosity in a few sentences.

3. Tip: Do I need a picture?

A controversial question: Should I or should I not add a picture to my CV? A picture says more than 1000 words and allows you to present yourself as a friendly, professional candidate. However, whether you add a picture or not is up to you. Every competent photograph will tell you how to get a suitable photo for your application. Just make sure you choose the right posture and look confident and friendly.

4. Tip: What should I be careful about?

Your CV is the core of your application. There are many different suggestions about how to get the perfect curriculum vitae, and oftentimes they differ widely or even contradict each other. Don’t let this confuse you. Try to let your CV fit into three pages. Start with your personal details and your contact data, then follow up with your school and academic education. Your most important degree is always at the top. When presenting your work experiences, we recommend you to start with the most recent ones and work your way back in time. Do not mention 20 years old job references first, start with your latest employee instead. Describe your tasks and responsibilities in the companies you worked in. At the end of your CV, write about your technical, language and other special skills, your qualifications and your trainings.

5. Tip: How do I get in contact with you?

You can send your application either filling in our application form or via email. In order to protect the environment, we would prefer you to apply electronically. However, all applications are taken into consideration.

If you are applying via our application form, we would ask you the following:

  • Send the attachments as a PDF
  • Put your reference letters and certificates in a single file
  • Don’t use any ZIP or RAR–archives, as we do not open those for security reasons
  • Files should not be bigger than 5 MB
